CoSN’s Withrow CTO Award
This prestigious award recognizes an outstanding district Chief Technology Officer (CTO) who serves as a technology champion and has demonstrated transformative leadership within their school system. It is named in honor of Frank Withrow, a pioneering advocate for K-12 educational technology.
Eligibility:
- Chief Technology Officers (or equivalent) from public, charter, private, parochial, or independent schools.
- Nominees must be CoSN members.
- CoSN Board members are not eligible for CoSN individual awards.
State Chapter Nominations: CoSN Chapters may submit one nominee per state for each award. If a chapter submits a nominee, additional submissions from that state will not be considered. Only current CoSN members are eligible for the Withrow Award.
Nomination Deadline: Nominations are due by November 18, 2024.
Application Instructions: You must complete the application in one sitting. Each response is limited to 200 words. Please review the following questions in advance:
- Leadership: How has the nominee demonstrated exemplary leadership in using technology to enhance student learning opportunities and accessibility? (Provide examples of roles and activities.)
- Community Relationships: How has the nominee fostered change through relationships with parents, teachers, and educational leaders?
- Innovation: How has the nominee used technology in innovative ways?
- Impact: What measurable impact on student learning has the nominee’s leadership had? What data supports this?
- Public/Private Sector Partnerships: What partnerships or policies has the nominee championed to improve connectivity and/or enhance student learning?
Important Notice: If you are from Colorado, Montana, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Texas, or Tennessee, you are not eligible to apply for this award. Each of these states runs a parallel state awards program through their CoSN state chapter. The winner of that state award is automatically considered for the national award. We encourage you to apply through your state program.
