Telephone Billing and Rectification

    Greetings Community,
I'm looking for software to help with rectifying my telephone billing.  Some time back, there was software out there that would allow CVS or other delimited data to be imported into an application and it would alert when billing was out of range.  Yes, it did require considerable setup time but the cost and time savings was worth the effort.

My district has 98 active campuses and several admin locations which results in multiple billing statements.  Our provider doesn't offer by location billing or that method has gone by the waist-side, another issue all together, and the bills take hours to go through.

Does anyone know of this software, use it or what is your district using to manage telephone/circuit billing rectification?

I'm not aware of a software for this. You may want consider hiring a consultant to work on this project. Their fee can be paid quickly by finding out you're getting over billed at certain locations.

I corralled the telco in years ago to get single location billing. Billing was cleaned up and we have saved a ton of money.

When I was CTO in WISD, we ended up hiring a consultant to review the billing.  Even though AT&T had the ability to do so and went so far as to flash a screen with all the information we needed, they refused to hand it over.  It IS a very tedious process so I do wish you luck on that endeavor.

    Dear All,

Please review your AT&T bill carefully. I can almost guarantee that you are being overcharged for something you no longer need, want, or even know you have. I did not hire a consulting firm nor did I use a software program but I did spend almost two years combing through invoices, meeting with my AT&T rep, and going line item by line item through what they called a "master BO Report". The spreadsheet had 17,151 line items and was 1,432 pages long. I questioned a single line item labeled "PLPA" for $1,045/month. They found that it was for an intercom system dating back to 1985. This system had been replaced in the early 90's but the charge was never removed. We were also charged $800 for cancelling a service call that we DID NOT place. They apologized for sending the tech out in error and yet still billed us for the cancellation. The worst charge I found was multiple line items labeled "BAPA" in total the monthly charge was over $5,800. According to them, this was for burglar alarm circuits that had been cut for years. I'm going to check it again next month. But so far, our monthly invoice has been reduced by over $20,000.  Good Luck!
